Hanna
Hanna has been doing nails since 2010. She trained and worked in Ukraine, where the dry e-file manicure is the everyday standard, and has kept the same way of working in Calgary.
The studio is a small private room on the 4th floor at 301 14 St NW in Kensington, office 414-7. There is one chair. Hanna does not take two clients at once and does not hand part of the work to an assistant. The person who shapes the cuticle is the person who paints the nail.
Clients mostly come from Hillhurst, Sunnyside, West Hillhurst, downtown and the University district, and a good number drive across the city for the same reason: the set still looks done a month later.
The name is simple. HT are her initials. The secret is that there is none, just fifteen years of doing the same thing carefully.
